Abstract: ABSTRACT IOT-BASED OIL PIPELINE LEAK DETECTION SYSTEM WITH EDGE ACOUSTIC CLASSIFICATION AND AUTOMATED VALVE ISOLATION An IoT-based smart oil pipeline leak detection system (100) comprising distributed acoustic emission sensor nodes (110) with edge-level spectral classification for distinguishing leak signatures from operational noise. Each sensor node (110) includes a piezoelectric transducer (112), signal conditioning module (114), and edge classifier module (116) comparing detected acoustic spectra against trained leak templates in flash memory. Time-difference-of-arrival analysis across adjacent sensor pairs at an edge controller (120) estimates approximate longitudinal leak position. Confirmed leak detection triggers automated actuation of upstream (132) and downstream (134) isolation valves via motorised actuators (136). A cloud pipeline operations platform (140) provides a real-time dashboard (142) and tamper-evident integrity event log (144). The system reduces communication bandwidth by distributing classification to edge nodes and enables rapid automated containment of pipeline leaks. [
