Abstract: IoT-Based Smart Cold Chain Commerce and Temperature-Controlled Logistics Monitoring Device ABSTRACT The present invention relates to an Internet of Things (IoT)-based smart cold chain monitoring and logistics management device designed to continuously monitor and maintain the required environmental conditions during the transportation and storage of temperature-sensitive products. Cold chain products such as medicines, vaccines, dairy products, frozen foods, fruits, vegetables, meat, seafood, and other perishable goods require controlled temperature conditions throughout their journey from the supplier to the final customer. The proposed system uses an IoT-enabled monitoring device containing temperature and humidity sensors, a microcontroller, communication module, GPS/location tracking unit, display or indicator, power supply, and cloud/database connectivity. The sensors continuously measure the environmental conditions inside a refrigerated container, storage box, vehicle, or cold storage facility. The GPS module can provide the current location of the shipment, allowing the movement of the temperature-sensitive goods to be monitored during transportation. The system can also store historical temperature, humidity, location, and time-based information for monitoring, reporting, quality verification, and future analysis. The proposed device provides a connected solution for improving visibility and control throughout the cold chain. It can help logistics operators identify temperature deviations at an early stage, monitor transportation conditions remotely, maintain digital records, and support better handling of temperature-sensitive products. The system can be implemented in refrigerated trucks, portable cold boxes, warehouses, distribution centers, medical supply transportation systems, food delivery systems, and other temperature-controlled logistics applications.
