MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621079613 A) filed by Symbiosis International Deemed University on June 27, 2026, for Iot-Based Smart Wastewater Quality Monitoring And Regulatory Alert System.

Inventors include Dr. N. A. Natraj; and Dr. Ca. Prasanna Kulkarni.

The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT IOT-BASED SMART WASTEWATER QUALITY MONITORING AND REGULATORY ALERT SYSTEM An IoT-based smart wastewater quality monitoring and regulatory alert system (100) comprising an in-line electrochemical sensor array (110) for continuous measurement of effluent pH, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, chemical oxygen demand, and total dissolved solids without sample collection. An edge gateway (130) compares measured parameters against configurable regulatory discharge thresholds and confirms sustained exceedances over a configurable confirmation window to exclude transient noise. Upon confirmed exceedance, an alert dispatch module (160) simultaneously notifies facility operators via an operator notification channel (162) and regulatory authorities via a regulatory authority notification channel (164). A cloud compliance platform (150) maintains a tamper-evident, hash-chained discharge record via a hash-chain integrity module (154) and generates compliance summary reports through a report generation module (158) in regulatory submission formats.
