Abstract: An IoT-enabled adaptive mattress system is disclosed for pressure management in bedridden and immobile patients. The system comprises a plurality of force-sensitive sensors arranged across selected mattress regions, an embedded controller, pneumatic inflators, alternating mattress air chambers and a motor-driven airflow regulation mechanism. Sensor measurements are processed to evaluate pressure severity and exposure duration. Based on the evaluated conditions, the controller adjusts airflow regulation to redistribute loading between designated mattress sections. An analog multiplexer may facilitate acquisition of multiple sensor signals, while wireless communication enables remote monitoring of selected measurements and system status. The system provides a feedback-based approach to pressure redistribution in comparison with predetermined alternation timing. Experimental evaluation of the prototype includes interface pressure measurements and comparative analysis under controlled test conditions.
