MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641072364 A) filed by Srm Trp Engineering College on June 11, 2026, for Iot-Enabled Autonomous Drone System For Real-Time Fire Detection And Extinguishing.
Inventors include Mathesh Tr; Mohankumar L; Sinegavalli S; and Dr. Gandhimathi G.
The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.
Abstract: The invention presents an IoT-enabled autonomous drone system designed for early fire detection and rapid response. The system integrates environmental sensors, wireless communication, location tracking, and a servo-controlled fire suppression mechanism to detect and respond to fire hazards in real time. Sensor data including temperature, gas concentration, and flame detection are continuously monitored and transmitted to a web-based dashboard for remote observation. In case of hazardous conditions, the system automatically activates the fire suppression mechanism while simultaneously providing live video monitoring and GPS-based location tracking. The proposed invention enhances fire safety by enabling early detection, reducing human risk, and improving emergency response efficiency.
