Abstract: The present invention relates to an IoT-enabled buoy system for detecting pollution in urban streams, designed for real-time monitoring of river pollution. The buoy features a cylindrical body that remains buoyant while housing essential components. At the top, a solar panel provides renewable energy, supported by an internal battery and power management system to ensure continuous operation. An antenna mounted above enables wireless data transmission through LoRa or cellular networks. Inside, an ESP32 microcontroller manages power distribution, processes sensor data, and coordinates communication. Below the waterline, multiple water quality sensors, including pH, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, conductivity, and heavy metal detectors, deliver multi-parameter analysis. To maintain accuracy, an ultrasonic antifouling unit is positioned near the sensors to prevent biofouling. Sensor data flows to the microcontroller, where it is processed, cryptographically signed, and transmitted to remote servers.
