Abstract: The present invention discloses an IoT-enabled dual-mode river microplastic monitoring and water assessment system (100) for freshwater pollution analysis. The system (100) comprises a support frame (102), control and data-acquisition unit (104), coarse- fraction trawl module (106), fine-fraction telescopic water-column sampling module (108), physico-chemical measurement module (110), storage and preservation assembly (112), communication and localization module (114), power subsystem (116), IoT gateway module (120), wireless transceiver unit (122), cloud server or remote environmental database (124), and remote monitoring dashboard or mobile application (126). The trawl module (106) recovers microplastic particles of about 75 µm and above, while the telescopic module (108) collects fine suspended fractions. The IoT gateway module (120) transmits georeferenced sampling data, filtered- volume data, sensor readings, and preservation-status data to a remote platform. The invention enables dual-fraction microplastic collection, water-quality correlation, cloud logging, alerts, and longitudinal river pollution assessment. (Accompanied Figure No. 1-5)
