Abstract: ABSTRACT IOT-ENABLED SMART IRRIGATION SYSTEM WITH REAL-TIME SOIL MOISTURE SENSING AND AUTOMATED WATER MANAGEMENT The present invention discloses an Internet of Things enabled smart irrigation system (100) for automated water management in agricultural and horticultural applications. The system (100) comprises soil moisture sensing module (110) configured for continuous real-time measurement of soil water content, a microcontroller unit (120) programmed with threshold-based decision logic for processing sensor data, a relay switching module (130) for controlled actuation of a water pump assembly (140), an IoT communication module (150) for wireless transmission of operational data to a cloud analytics platform (160), and a mobile application interface (170) for remote monitoring and control. The microcontroller unit (120) automatically activates the water pump assembly (140) when soil moisture falls below a predefined threshold and deactivates the assembly upon attaining adequate moisture levels, thereby preventing over-irrigation and conserving water. The cloud analytics platform (160) stores historical irrigation data, generates real-time visualizations and automated alerts, and enables efficient smart irrigation management. [
