Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to an IoT-enabled solar irrigation system with automated water management mechanism for agricultural applications. The system comprises a solar photovoltaic power generation unit, soil moisture sensing unit, microcontroller-based control unit, relay-controlled pumping unit, IoT communication interface, and irrigation distribution network. The soil moisture sensing unit continuously monitors soil conditions and transmits moisture data to the control unit. The control unit compares the sensed values with predefined threshold values and automatically controls operation of the water pump. The system operates using solar energy and optionally stored battery power, thereby reducing dependency on grid electricity. The IoT communication interface enables remote monitoring and intelligent irrigation management. The invention provides efficient water utilization, reduced labor dependency, autonomous irrigation control, and sustainable agricultural operation suitable for off-grid and rural farming applications.
