Abstract: ABSTRACT IOT MULTI-SENSOR FUSION SYSTEM WITH ON-DEVICE ML FOR AUTOMATED WASTE SEGREGATION The present invention discloses an automated waste segregation system (100) integrating IoT multi-sensor fusion and on-device machine learning for real-time classification of municipal solid waste. The system comprises a deposition chute (110) with a proximity sensor (112), a sensor array (120) including a near-infrared spectroscopy unit (122) generating a 64-point reflectance spectrum over 900 to 1700 nm, a capacitive moisture sensor (124), and a load cell (126). A microcontroller unit (130) constructs a 66-feature vector and applies a quantised Random Forest classifier (134) executing in under 200 milliseconds. Classification outputs actuate a mechanical deflector array (140) routing each item to one of four collection compartments (150a, 150b, 150c, 150d). Items with low confidence scores are directed to Residual Waste. A cloud management platform (170) receives event logs and supports over-the-air model updates. The invention enables accurate non-destructive automated waste segregation at point-of-generation locations. [
