Abstract: The present invention an autonomous irrigation system for precision water management integrates IoT sensor networks with AI-based decision-making. A distributed sensor network comprising soil moisture, temperature and humidity sensors collects real-time environmental data from an agricultural field and transmits the data to a central processing unit or cloud platform. A preprocessing module filters, calibrates and structures the sensor data for analysis. An AI decision engine applies machine learning models to predict irrigation requirements and generate an optimized irrigation schedule including start time and duration. A microcontroller-based automation controller executes the schedule by controlling pumps, valves and sprinklers with minimal human intervention. A mobile/remote monitoring interface provides real-time visualization of sensor readings, irrigation status and AI recommendations and allows user override. The system supports field testing and validation to evaluate water savings and crop yield improvement. The invention enables adaptive, data-driven irrigation responsive to environmental conditions, reducing water wastage and improving sustainability of agricultural practices.
