Abstract: Provided is a pellet production method by which the occurrence of bursting can be suppressed. An iron ore pellet production method according to the present disclosure comprises: (a) a step for crushing iron ore; (b) a step for using the crushed iron ore to obtain a pellet raw material; (c) a step for granulating or molding the pellet raw material to obtain green pellets; and (d) a step for firing the green pellets, wherein the product XYZ (mass%·mm·ºC/min) of the average crystal water content X (mass%) of the iron ore constituting the pellet raw material, the average particle diameter Y (mm) of the green pellets before the firing, and a temperature rising rate Z (ºC/min) from 250ºC to 700ºC during the firing is adjusted so as to be equal to or less than a predetermined allowable value A.
