Abstract: Provided is a joining technique that yields excellent surface quality without generating quality defects such as cracks. In this joining member, a first member having a protrusion and a second member having a hole portion are joined while superimposed on each other in a plate thickness direction. The protrusion has a length before joining that is longer than the hole portion. The protrusion includes: a convex bent portion that has a smaller width than the hole portion, connects and extends to another portion of the first member, and is formed so as to be bent in the direction of the second member; a concave bent portion that has a smaller width than the hole portion, connects and extends to the convex bent portion, is bent in a direction opposite to the convex bent portion, and is inserted into the hole portion; and a caulking portion that connects and extends to the concave bent portion, has the widest tip, has a tapered shape having a greater width than the hole portion, and is caulked so as to expand the hole portion.
