Abstract: This project presents An LLM-powered conversational agent developed to provide accurate, reliable, and easily accessible legal information to users, especially students. In today’s digital era, understanding legal rights and cyber laws has become very important, but the complexity of legal language and scattered information sources make it difficult for common users to access correct information. This system addresses this problem by offering a simplified and structured platform for legal knowledge retrieval. It mainly focuses on two domains: Cyber Security Laws and Student Rights, covering important provisions from the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, including sections related to hacking, identity theft, privacy violations, and unauthorized access. The system is implemented using Python as the core programming language and Streamlit for building an interactive web-based interface. It uses a structured JSON-based knowledge base to ensure fast data retrieval and factual accuracy. The core functionality is powered by a heuristic search algorithm that filters user queries, matches them with stored legal data, and generates responses based on relevance and confidence scores. Unlike general AI systems, this agent ensures zero hallucination by strictly operating within a predefined dataset. It also maintains user privacy by functioning in a controlled environment and provides a modern glassmorphism-based UI with features like domain filtering, dynamic legal facts, and session-based chat history to enhance usability and user engagement.
