MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541008282 A) filed by Kalakshetra Foundation on January 31, 2025, for Kalakshetra Grand Rudraksham Saree.

Inventor includes Kalakshetra Foundation.

The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.

Abstract: The gorgeous saree is 5.5 meters length and 50 inches width. The warp and weft used in the body is araku with self Kamalam with Benares designs in zari all over the body. The size of each Kamalam is ¾ of an inches which is closed by Benares design. The all over rich zari design makes this saree one among the grandiose saree collections of Smt. Rukmini Arundale. Border: The long border is 13 inches with a Rettai pettu border design. The border designs include Kamalam kodi and Benaras in a one inch band. The border is also highlighted with a row of Mango design above the band border. Thalappu : The thalappu of the saree is 39 inches. The rows of designs on the thalappu are Mango, Mayil, Kili, Yali on the top and bottom of the thalappu, highlighted by an 8-inch band of Diamond Kannu flower designs and Kamalam. Each row of designs are followed by a row of Muttu seer. The bottom of the thalappu has three rows of Manga and Muttu seer which also accentuates the grand thalappu. The inside thalappu is 44 inches with simple seer line.
