Abstract: The present invention is directed to a lamellar wash composition having a surfactant system with an anionic that is at least 40% by weight isethionate, and an amphoteric, zwitterionic or both. The composition is stable and has no or reduced amounts of surfactant with an amidoal- kyl bridge and no or reduced amounts of structurant derived from palm kernel oil. The composi- tion surprisingly provides excellent sensory and lathering characteristics and remains in lamellar phase.
