Abstract: [052] The present invention relates to a laminated flax fiber composite insulation system for providing simultaneous acoustic and thermal insulation in building applications. The system comprises multiple laminated layers including flax fiber reinforcement layers, bio-based binder layers, a porous insulation layer, and protective surface layers integrally bonded to form a structurally stable composite panel. Surface-treated flax fibers improve interfacial adhesion, moisture resistance, and dimensional stability, while optional functional additives including cork particles, aerogel particles, biochar, expanded perlite, fire retardants, antimicrobial agents, and phase change materials further enhance insulation performance and durability. A manufacturing method involving fiber preparation, surface treatment, layer assembly, binder application, compression, curing, and finishing produces uniform insulation panels suitable for residential, commercial, industrial, and modular construction. The laminated composite provides improved acoustic damping, reduced thermal conductivity, enhanced environmental sustainability, and long-term structural performance, making it particularly suitable for modern energy-efficient building systems.
