Abstract: ABSTRACT LATCHING ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF OPERATING THE LATCHING ASSEMBLY A latching assembly (102) and method (300) of operating the latching assembly (102) assembly (102) is disclosed. The latching assembly (102) includes a flap actuator (106) lockably coupled to a hood of a vehicle. The latching assembly (102) includes a piezoelectric lever mechanism (104) operatively coupled to the flap actuator (106) via a cam lobe (122). Further, a rotational operation of the cam lobe (122) enables the piezoelectric lever mechanism (104) to generate an actuation signal to actuate the flap actuator (106). The flap actuator (106) is configured to unlock the hood based on the actuation signal. [
