Abstract: A leg support system (100) for reducing musculoskeletal strain during prolonged sitting may include a support assembly (102) to provide support to one or more lower-limb regions of a user, sensing units (104) associated with support assembly (102) to acquire parameters indicative of user-support interaction conditions, and an actuation unit (108) selectively modifies support characteristics across the lower limbs. A control unit (106) communicatively coupled with sensing units (104) and actuation unit (108) may include one or more processors (106A) and a memory (106B) storing executable instructions. Control unit (106) may receive acquired parameters, determine user-support interaction conditions, generate control commands, and operate actuation unit (108) to dynamically modify support characteristics and redistribute support forces. The control unit (106) may further employ a predictive engine (106D-4) to identify potential discomfort, circulation impairment, pressure accumulation, or musculoskeletal strain and initiate pre-emptive support adjustments to mitigate such conditions and enhance user comfort.
