MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611109688 A) filed by Pranveer Singh Institute Of Technology, Kanpur on September 12, 2026, for Lifesense: Dual-Modality Concealed Life Detection System With Radar-Multispectral Sensor Fusion.
Inventors include Ankit Jain; Dr. Manish Kumar; Dr. Vedvrat; Dr. Mohit Kumar Srivastava; Dr. Puspraj Singh Chauhan; Aman Trivedi; Abhay Singh Tomar; and Laxmi Singh.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: This invention is a device built to answer one specific question with real confidence: is there a living being hidden here? It does this by pairing an Ultra-Wideband (UWB) radar unit, which picks up breathing and heartbeat signals through -metallic obstacles with a multispectral imaging unit that exposes camouflaged or otherwise concealed subjects through wavelength-band analysis. Neither reading is trusted on its own. A machine-learning fusion algorithm running on an embedded processing unit merges both confidence scores into a value then applies threshold logic to decide between a high-confidence and a medium-confidence alert. Whatever the result it reaches the operator through a display and buzzer tagged with GPS coordinates. The result is a battery-powered device that stays affordable enough for real deployment across disaster response avalanche rescue, defence and hostage situations, border security and forestry or wildlife monitoring alike. By bringing radar-based vital-sign sensing, multispectral anomaly detection, and machine-learning fusion into one field-ready unit, the invention aims to make detections more reliable, false alarms rarer, and response times shorter especially in critical situations where every second can mean the difference between life and death.
