Inventors include Arun M. Isloor; and Sooraj S. Nayak.
The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.
Abstract: Title: Lignin-Carbon Nitride Composite Incorporated Hollow Fiber Membrane for Removal of Water Contaminants A hollow fiber membrane for water purification comprising; a polysulfone membrane matrix and a lignin–carbon nitride composite dispersed within the polysulfone membrane matrix to form functionalised hollow fibre membrane. The hollow fiber membrane for water purification of claim 1, wherein the lignin–carbon nitride composite comprises lignin derived from rice straw using a deep eutectic solvent system and exfoliated graphitic carbon nitride. A process for preparing a lignin–carbon nitride composite incorporated hollow fiber membrane comprising; preparing a deep eutectic solvent system using lactic acid and choline chloride, extracting lignin from rice straw using the deep eutectic solvent system, combining the extracted lignin with exfoliated graphitic carbon nitride to obtain a lignin–carbon nitride composite, dispersing the lignin–carbon nitride composite into a polysulfone dope solution, and fabricating the composite-containing dope solution into hollow fiber membranes by a dry-wet phase inversion spinning process.
