The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION Dairy wastewater is rich in high organic pollutants as well as suspended solids, A simple biofilter was prepared by employing pellets made from banana pseudostem (BPS) along with cocopeat arranged alternatively. Sodium alginate and calcium chloride were used to prepare pellets and for their stabilization. Filtration efficiency of the filter bed was checked on dairy wastewater. Various parameters like pH, COD, BOD, TSS, IDS, and TS were considered for analysis prior and postfiltration. It was observed that the pollutant levels were substantially reduced after filtration. Hie prepared biofilter is environmentally safe, economically feasible, and efficient for wastewater applications.
