The system employs a MEMS accelerometer to monitor ground vibrations in real time and uses a microcontroller to classify signals into three distinct stages: false environmental disturbances, primary P-wave detection, and destructive S-wave confirmation. Upon P-wave identification, it issues immediate warnings through alarms, SMS notifications, and visual indicators. Only after confirming S-waves does it automatically disconnect the main electrical supply via a relay to prevent secondary hazards like fires and equipment damage. This intelligent discrimination minimizes false alarms and unnecessary power interruptions while providing valuable response time. Built with affordable components, the system offers a practical, reliable, and scalable solution for residential, commercial, and industrial applications in earthquake-prone areas.
