The circuit (116) includes a shunt resistor (104) connected between a direct current (DC) supply unit (102) and an inverter bridge (106) of the inverter device (100). The circuit (116) further includes a low pass filter (108) for filtering high frequency noise across the shunt resistor (104) and supply sensed voltage across the shunt resistor (104) to a comparator circuit (112), enabling a control unit (114) to perform a predefined action.
