MUMBAI, India, June 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641068905 A) filed by Dr. I. Devi Vara Prasad on June 02, 2026, for Machine Learning Based Student Physical Performance Prediction And Injury Risk Prevention System Using Smart Activity Monitoring In Physical Education.
Inventor includes Dr. I. Devi Vara Prasad.
The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT: Title: Machine Learning Based Student Physical Performance Prediction and Injury Risk Prevention System Using Smart Activity Monitoring in Physical Education An intelligent, IoT-enabled, and machine learning-driven system for predicting student physical performance and preventing injury risks during physical education is disclosed. The system comprises a network of wearable smart activity monitoring nodes equipped with multi-axial inertial measurement units (IMUs), biometric sensors, and environmental telemetry modules. The wearable nodes capture real-time physiological data and kinematic parameters from students during physical activities. A localized edge-computing gateway aggregates the data and transmits it to a centralized cloud-based machine learning server. The server processes the multi-modal data streams using a dual-pipeline machine learning architecture comprising a Performance Prediction Engine and an Injury Risk Assessment Engine. The system dynamically generates predictive performance scores and outputs real-time injury risk alerts to physical education instructors via a graphical user interface when anomalous biomechanical or physiological thresholds are breached. The system optimizes training loads and enhances safety in institutional physical education ecosystems.
