MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611111092 A) filed by Noida Institute Of Engineering And Technology Pharmacy Institute on September 16, 2026, for Magnetically Directed Dual-Dynamic Boronate-Thioketal Hyaluronic Acid Nanocomposite Hydrogel For Diabetic Wound Management.
Inventors include Dr. Sharad Sharma; and Aparna Gupta.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses an injectable dual-dynamic-crosslinked hyaluronic acid nanocomposite hydrogel for chronic diabetic wound management, comprising hyaluronic acid grafted with phenylboronic acid, catechol and thioketal-caged diol pendants, amino-silane-coated superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles, and paired antimicrobial and pro-angiogenic cargoes. Upon co-mixing the polymers form an orthogonal interpenetrating network of phenylboronate-catechol and phenylboronate-diol bonds simultaneously pH-, glucose- and reactive-oxygen-species-responsive, producing a synergistic technical effect substantially greater than the sum of the individual components. The composition exhibits shear-thinning injectability through 25-gauge needles, gelation within thirty seconds, wet-tissue adhesion exceeding forty kilopascals, magnetically-guided deposition, and programmed sequential release yielding greater than eighty percent wound closure and three-fold increased neovascularisation at day fourteen in streptozotocin-diabetic murine full-thickness wounds, providing a corticosteroid-sparing therapeutic platform for outpatient diabetic ulcer care.
