Abstract: Techniques are disclosed herein for managing resource locks within a cloud environment of a cloud service provider offering a cloud service to a second cloud service provider. A request for a cloud service is received and a set of operations associated with provisioning the cloud service is performed. At least one operation can include designating resources associated with the cloud service as locked resources in a first cloud environment. The cloud service is provisioned, which causes access to a locked resource of the locked resources to be restricted from within the first cloud environment and permitted from within a second cloud environment. The provisioned cloud service enables data pertaining to the cloud service to be transferred from the second cloud environment to the first cloud environment.
