MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641085344 A) filed by Kalasalingam Academy Of Research And Education on July 13, 2026, for Mano And Metate Placing Stand With Remote Activated Hydraulic Jack.
Inventors include Dr. S. Shasi; and Dr. P. Jayakumar.
The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.
Abstract: An ergonomic, highly stable, and remote-controlled placing stand is disclosed for supporting and elevating heavy stone grinding implements like a mano and metate. The apparatus comprises a heavy-duty broad base (1) equipped with castor wheels (2) for mobility and extensible floor clamps (3) that extend downward to firmly lock the device to the ground. A central hydraulic pedestal (4) houses an internal fluid actuator that drives an extensible plunger (5) vertically upward to lift a holding platform (8) and a specialized, recessed mano and metate placing top (9) that cages the grinding stone. To ensure perfectly balanced, wobble-free movement, a pair of dual supporting pillars (6) and corresponding sliding dual supporting hubs (7) guide the platform symmetrically. A wireless remote control interface (10) is integrated to allow users to adjust the working height completely hands-free, minimizing physical strain.
