Abstract: Manually Powered Community Pothole Repair Cart with Integrated Mixing and Heating This invention describes a community-operated, manually powered pothole repair cart designed for decentralized and cost-effective road maintenance. The system integrates a pedal- or hand-crank-driven mixing drum, a low-tech insulated heating chamber with solar-thermal assist, a controlled material release hopper, and a manual compaction system to facilitate seamless pothole repair without reliance on external power sources. The mixing drum ensures uniform blending of asphalt or patching material, while the heating chamber maintains optimal working temperature using biomass, kerosene, LPG, or solar-thermal energy. The controlled material release system allows precise deposition, and the manual compaction mechanism enhances adhesion and durability. The lightweight, portable design allows single-operator maneuverability, making it ideal for rural and urban infrastructure maintenance. This invention enables immediate, sustainable, and long-lasting road repairs, reducing accident risks, vehicle damage, and infrastructure deterioration, while promoting community-led road maintenance initiatives in regions lacking municipal repair services.
