MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511000285 A) filed by Saira Galhotra; and Harshvardhan Galhotra on January 02, 2025, for Material And Device For Down-Conversion Of Ultraviolet Light.

Inventors include Saira Galhotra; and Harshvardhan Galhotra.

The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT MATERIAL AND DEVICE FOR DOWN-CONVERSION OF ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT The present invention relates to materials possessing the capability of converting absorbed electromagnetic radiation of a certain wavelength, to radiation at of a much longer wavelength on the electromagnetic spectrum. The nanostructured materials are configured to emit radiation at certain wavelengths, in response to absorption of energy across certain band of wavelengths upon exposure to an energy source such as ultraviolet light. The radiation emitting materials is capable of downconversion of, for e.g., ultraviolet radiation, to microwave radiation. The nanostructured materials can be a part of devices such as household appliances requiring long wavelength radiation sources, communication devices, automobiles, and other products requiring long wavelength radiation sources.
