MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202647089312 A) filed by Qualcomm Incorporated on July 22, 2026, for Measuring Channel State Feedback Using Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave-Based Low-Power Reference Signals.
Inventors include Liu, Kangqi; Duan, Weimin; and Lee, Hyojin.
The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques may enable a user equipment (UE) to receive one or more frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW)-based low power reference signals (LP-RSs) via a low power wake-up radio (LP-WUR), which may allow the UE to provide accurate channel state feedback (CSF) using the LP-WUR (e.g., without entering an active mode or waking up other components of the UE). In some aspects, the UE may measure an FMCW-based LP-RS via a narrow bandwidth and may use the frequency modulation properties of the FMCW-based LP-RS to estimate a wideband channel and report wideband CSF. In some examples, the UE may receive both a low power wake-up signal (LP-WUS) and an FMCW-based LP-RS via the LP-WUR. In some examples, the UE may receive an FMCW-based LP-RS that indicates wake-up information (e.g., in lieu of the LP-WUS).
