MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511007369 A) filed by Mati Carbon India Private Limited on January 29, 2025, for Medium, Device And Method For Monitoring Reporting And Verification Of Carbon Dioxide Removal.

Inventors include Anikendra Das; Robin Marlar Rajendran; Shantanu Agarwal; and Jacob S Jordan.

The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.

Abstract: The invention pertains to a novel medium, device and method for monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) of CDR through ERW in agricultural soils. The device is based on anion-exchange resin and employs a medium comprising defined mass ratio of anion-exchange resin and rigid, inert, non-porous material to quantify bicarbonate flux in terrestrial soil. The device of the present invention continuously adsorbs bicarbonate over the cropping season, thereby providing a time-integrated measure of total carbon removal rather than a single point-in-time measurement. The method of the present invention involves among other aspects, strategic placement of the device near a field bund enabling accurate representation of field-level carbon flux.
