More particularly, according to various embodiments of the present disclosure, in a wireless communication system, a user equipment (UE) may comprise a transceiver and a controller coupled to the transceiver, wherein the controller may be configured to: receive, from a base station, a system information block 1 (SIB1) including information regarding a plurality of additional random access channel (RACH) occasions (ROs); on the basis of the information, identify SSB-RO mapping between a synchronization signal block (SSB) and a valid random access channel (RACH) occasion (RO); and on the basis of the information, identify at least one RO for physical RACH (PRACH) transmission from among the plurality of additional ROs.
