MUMBAI, India, June 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641064195 A) filed by Nitte Deemed To Be University; Dr. Ramesh Bhat; and Sanjayakumara Re Madaravalli on May 21, 2026, for Method And Composition For Electrodeposition Of Corrosion-Resistant Metal Alloy Coatings.
Inventors include Dr. Ramesh Bhat; and Sanjayakumara Re Madaravalli.
The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT Disclosed herein is a method (100) for electrodeposition of corrosion-resistant metal alloy coatings, the method (100) comprising, preparing an electrolytic bath comprising a plurality of metal ions and an organic additive, under controlled conditions, conditioning the electrolytic bath by incorporating a buffering agent configured to regulate pH and improve electrolyte conductivity, preparing a conductive substrate for electrodeposition, applying an electric current to the electrolytic bath to induce cathodic reduction of the metal ions and deposit a metal coating onto the prepared cathode and allowing to adsorb the organic additive onto a surface of the cathode during electrodeposition to modulate deposition kinetics, control nucleation, and regulate grain growth, thereby forming a uniform, dense, and corrosion- resistant metal coating.
