Abstract: METHOD AND DEVICE FOR ESTIMATING HEAD POSE OF A USER WEARING HEAD MOUNTED DISPLAY DEVICE Embodiments of present disclosure disclose method and device for estimating head pose of a user wearing head mounted display (HMD) device in a vehicle. Method comprises detecting plurality of marker points surrounding transparent regions of a vehicle and determining relative positions of the detected plurality of marker points. Method further comprises estimating first pose of the HMD device based on comparing the determined relative positions with pre-stored global marker points map. Further, method comprises extracting plurality of feature points indicative of features of the interior of the vehicle using the plurality of images and determining relative positions of the extracted plurality of feature points with respect to the HMD device. Further, method comprises estimating second pose of the HMD device based on comparing the determined relative positions with pre-stored global feature points map and estimating the head pose by fusing the first pose and the second pose.
