Abstract: The invention relates to a method for identifying an electronic assembly, in which method at least one image, in particular a photograph, of the assembly is processed by means of image analysis. According to the invention, structural elements of the assembly are recognized by means of the image analysis, and structural-element types of at least some individual structural elements are determined. Depending on the purpose, different forms of image analysis are carried out, and results of the different forms of image analysis are combined for the purpose of recognizing structural elements, determining structural-element types and/or identifying the assembly. In one embodiment of the invention, at least one of the image analyses is carried out by means of an artificial neural network which is trained to recognize structural elements in the assembly and/or to determine to which structural-element type the structural element in question belongs.
