Abstract: ABSTRACT METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ADAPTIVE SSB PERIODICITY FOR DOWNLINK COVERAGE ENHANCEMENTS IN NR NTN A method and system for signalling SSB periodicity in a non-terrestrial network (NTN). The method includes the steps of: determining, by a base station, an SSB periodicity based on at least one of a number of beams carrying active traffic, a number of beams transmitting only common messages and a number of beams in an off state, signalling, by the base station, the SSB periodicity to user equipment (UE) in one of a broadcast message and a unicast message; wherein the broadcast message is system information block1 (SIB1).
