MUMBAI, India, June 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641064352 A) filed by Srm Valliammai Engineering College on May 21, 2026, for Method And System For Artificial Intelligence (ai) Driven Soil Taxonomy-Based Crop Recommendation.

Inventors include Vadivu, S. Shenbaga; and Rose, Dr. A. Leema.

The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.

Abstract: METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) DRIVEN SOIL TAXONOMY-BASED CROP RECOMMENDATION Provided are a method (400) and a system (100) for Artificial Intelligence (AI) driven soil taxonomy-based crop recommendation. The method comprises collecting (402) soil parameters and collecting (404) environmental and climatic parameters associated with an agricultural land parcel. Further, the method comprises retrieving (406) historical agricultural datasets, preprocessing (408) the collected datasets, classifying (410) soil taxonomy, forecasting (412) soil moisture using an AI-based prediction model, and predicting (414) suitable crops using an ML-based prediction model. The method further comprises generating (416) fertilizer recommendations, irrigation schedules, crop yield estimations, seed requirement details, and crop budget, and displaying (418) crop recommendation outputs through a web application dashboard. The system comprises soil sensors (102), environmental sensors (104), cloud storage (106), and a device (110) for agricultural analysis and crop recommendation generation.
