Abstract: ABSTRACT Method and System for Controlled Periodontal Graft Harvesting Using a Dual-Blade Instrument This document pertains to an apparatus and method for harvesting of periodontal grafts, wherein the graft is harvested in a highly controlled manner with optimal efficiency and accuracy. In an aspect, the apparatus is provided with a comfortable handle grip, a bifurcated shaft providing two parallel arms, and a blade system designed to cut simultaneously into a tissue through parallel incisions. In another aspect, a controllable and lockable blade penetration mechanism is employed that controls the penetration depth of the blades, thereby harvesting grafts of pre-set and uniform thicknesses. In yet another aspect, a system for maintaining constant tension on the tissue under harvest and an articulation system providing angle-based movement of the incisions are also employed. Fig. 3
