Abstract: METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR HOME-AGENT AND FOREIGN-AGENT MUTUAL AUTHENTICATION PROTOCOL (HAFA-MAP) IN MOBILITY NETWORKS The present invention relates to a lightweight mutual authentication system (100) and method (200) for secure roaming communication in a mobility network. The system comprises a Home Agent (HA) (102) and a Foreign Agent (FA) (152), each including a processor (104, 154), memory (106, 156), nonce generator (108, 158), AES module (110, 160), HASH computation unit (112, 162), secure message processing unit (114, 164), Wi-Fi transceiver (116, 166), network stack module (118, 168), and encrypted wireless data interface (120, 170). The method includes generating a nonce and timestamp, computing a hash-based authentication token, generating an encrypted payload, transmitting an authentication message, verifying authenticity and freshness, generating a response message, and establishing a secure roaming communication tunnel using a derived session key. The proposed framework enables direct authentication between the HA and FA without cryptographic participation of a mobile user device (180), thereby reducing computational overhead while providing secure roaming communication.
