Abstract: METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PROVIDING OPTIMAL COOLING PLAN FOR WIRE-ROD IN WIRE-ROD ROLLING MILL The present disclosure relates to a method and a system for providing an optimal cooling plan for a wire-rod in a wire-rod rolling mill. Method comprising receiving values of predefined parameters associated with the wire-rod passing through cooling sections in the wire-rod rolling mill. The cross-section of the wire rod is designated with nodes starting from a centre to a surface of the wire-rod. Method comprising estimating a thermal profile of the wire-rod at each node in the wire-rod and at predefined time intervals using a coupled heat transfer model. The coupled heat transfer model estimates the thermal profile at each node based on a correlation between the plurality of predefined parameters. Method comprising estimating a phase at each node and at the predefined time intervals, based on the estimated thermal profile. Method comprising determining an optimal cooling plan for the wire-rod based on the estimated phase. Fig. 1a
