MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541028462 A) filed by Stellantis Auto Sas; and Fca Us LLC on March 26, 2025, for Method And System For Providing Satellite-Based Wi-Fi Connectivity.
Inventor includes Sapkal.
The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure discloses method (400) and system (200) for providing satellite-based wi-fi connectivity. The system (200) comprises a smart antenna (201) which establishes and maintains stable satellite connection by utilizing phased array technology and GPS for precise satellite tracking. A satellite communication module (202) decodes satellite signals into internet data streams. A wireless access point and data distribution module (203) distributes internet connectivity within the vehicle. A dynamic network handover module (204) monitors signal strength and facilitates seamless transitions between satellite and terrestrial networks. The system (200) dynamically transitions between satellite, 4G/5G cellular networks, and terrestrial Wi-Fi networks to maintain seamless connectivity. It supports Vehicle-to- Everything (V2X) communication for real-time data exchange with smart infrastructure, while an AI- analytics module (160) and predictive analytics module (170) optimize traffic flow and vehicle control. Thus, uninterrupted connectivity, enhanced traffic management, improved vehicular safety, efficiency, and user experience are achieved. Fig. 2
