Abstract: The present disclosure provides a system and a method for automatic detection of mitosis and lymphocyte regions in medical images. The method (600) comprises the steps of pre-processing, by an image processing unit (102), at least one medical image of the tissue to generate a training image dataset, a testing image dataset and a validation image dataset, and training, by a hybrid model training unit (104), a mitosis detection model using the training image dataset. The method (600) also comprises a step of testing, by a hybrid model testing unit (116), one or more images of the testing image dataset by passing the one or more images to the mitosis detection model for accurately detecting presence of a Region of Interest (RoI) for any of the mitosis region and the lymphocyte region in the one or more images of the testing image dataset.
