Abstract: METHOD FOR CONTINUOUS PRODUCTION OF VERMICOMPOST ABSTRACT Disclosed is a a sustainable, economic and efficient method for continuous supply of vermicompost. The method is a process cycle, that is continued till a supply of compostable material continues. The method is carried out using a composting unit (C) and a vermicomposting unit (V), wherein temperature and humidity conditions required for composting and vermicomposting are effectively maintained. The compostable material is semi-composted and cooled in the composting unit (C) and transferred to the vermicomposting unit (V) for carrying out vermicomposting by earthworms. A moisture level in the vermicomposting unit (V) is maintained using suitable moisture maintaining arrangement. One process cycle completes in six weeks and from the seventh week onwards, the vermicompost is harvested every week. The earthworms are separated from the vermicompost material and reused for further vermicomposting cycles. Reference figure:
