MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617098792 A) filed by Robert Bosch Gmbh on August 14, 2026, for Method For Controlling A Three-Level Power Converter, Control Assembly, System, And Electric Machine Unit.

Inventors include Carraro, Federico; and Stamer, Fabian.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for controlling a three-level power converter (130), the three-level power converter comprising: one or more AC terminals (157) for connection to one phase each on the AC voltage side; two DC terminals (147, 148) for connection to the DC voltage side; one or more converter phases, wherein each of the one or more converter phases has a switchable branch (150) with one centre tap (155) each, each centre tap being connected to one of the AC terminals, and has a central branch (160) with at least one switch (161, 162) each; and a DC link (140) between the two DC terminals, wherein a centre tap (145) of the DC link (140) is connected to the associated centre tap (155) of the switchable branches (150) via the central branch (160) of each of the one or more converter phases, wherein the method comprises: receiving or providing a value of at least one parameter (158); and at least intermittently controlling the at least one switch (161, 162) of the central branch of the one or at least one of the multiple converter phases in an adaptive switching mode, the adaptive switching mode comprising opening and/or closing the at least one switch at a switching speed dependent on the value of the at least one parameter.
