Abstract: The present disclosure pertains to a method and apparatus for efficiently removing interference fit components, such as old rings (06) and bushes (08), from valve covers in industrial settings. Traditional removal methods, such as machining, pose challenges due to the hardness of materials like satellites, prolonged processing times, tool damage, and the risk of damaging the parent material. In response, the present disclosure introduces an innovative process utilizing induction heating to selectively heat the valve cover (01) and facilitate the removal of the governing valves old components (06, 08). The method involves precise temperature control, insulation measures, and careful handling to ensure the integrity of the components. Additionally, a specific method is outlined for different types of valve covers (01), including steam turbine governing valves, to optimize the removal and replacement process.
