Abstract: ABSTRACT METHOD FOR IDENTIFICATION OF ONCOGENIC PEPTIDE FROM ENTEROCOCCUS HIRAE ASSOCIATED WITH COLON CANCER The present disclosure relates to a method for the identification of an oncogenic peptide from a gut bacterial isolate associated with colon cancer. More particularly, the oncogenic peptide is identified from Enterococcus hirae, isolated from the faecal samples of a colon cancer subject. The disclosed method comprises steps of: identifying an oncogenic gut bacterial isolate, wherein the gut bacterial isolate is Enterococcus hirae; obtaining cell-free supernatant (CFS) from Enterococcus hirae; desalting; eluting peptides and subjecting to Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) through Data-Dependent Acquisition (DDA); and identifying oncogenic peptides. The identified oncogenic peptide(s) could serve as diagnostic biomarkers for detecting gut bacteria-linked colon cancer types.
