Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a neuromorphic processing unit (104) and a method (400) for neuromorphic wake-up for charging an electric vehicle (102). The method (400) includes generating, by the NPU (104), at least one spike train by preprocessing one or more charging inputs received in real-time, processing the spike train(s) through a spiking neural network (SNN) based on one or more event-driven conditions corresponding to the charging inputs defined by at least one spike received by neurons of the SNN, and generating an output signal in real-time based on the processing of the charging inputs by the SNN. Then, the method (400) includes determining when to wake up a charging system (110) of the vehicle (102) to initiate charging based on the generated output signal. By using the SNN, the method (400) provides a computationally efficient solution to determine/learn to determine when to wake up the charging system (110).
