Abstract: [0041] The present invention relates to a method for bioconversion of organic waste using hermetia illucens (Black Soldier Fly) larvae and the production of a sustainable aquaculture feed ingredient. Organic waste is processed and utilized as a substrate for rearing Black Soldier Fly larvae, which efficiently convert the waste into nutrient-rich biomass. The harvested larvae are processed into larval meal 10 containing high levels of protein, lipids, amino acids, and other essential nutrients. The larval meal is incorporated into aquaculture feed formulations as a partial or complete replacement for conventional fishmeal. Feeding trials conducted in Catla catla demonstrate improved growth performance, feed utilization, digestive enzyme activity, hematological characteristics, immune responses, gut microbial diversity, and intestinal health at optimized inclusion levels. The invention provides an integrated waste-to-feed system that reduces environmental pollution, promotes resource recovery, decreases dependence on conventional fishmeal resources and supports sustainable and cost-effective aquaculture production.
