MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202647082874 A) filed by Ifp Energies Nouvelles; and Compagnie Gnrale Des Etablissements on July 06, 2026, for Method For Preparing A Catalyst By Organic Means In The Presence Of A Multifunctional Acid Additive.

Inventor includes Cadran, Nicolas.

The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for preparing a catalyst, comprising: • a) preparing an organic solution comprising: • at least one metal precursor of a metal element chosen from the elements of groups 3, 4 and 5 of the periodic table such as tantalum and zirconium, and • at least one multifunctional acid additive, preferably chosen from hydroxy acids, ketoacids, polyacids, their anhydrides, and mixtures thereof; the metal precursor and the multifunctional acid additive being present in the organic solution in amounts such that the acid/metal molar ratio between the multifunctional acid additive and the metal element provided by the metal precursor is greater than 1; • b) depositing the metal precursor on an oxide matrix, by placing the organic solution in contact with the oxide matrix; and then • c) a thermal treatment. The present invention also relates to the catalyst obtained and to the use thereof for converting a feedstock comprising ethanol into butadiene.
